About L.E.A.D.
L.E.A.D. — Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Violence — is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting youth and communities from drugs, drug-related crime, bullying, and violence. Working alongside educators, community leaders, and families, L.E.A.D. provides law enforcement agencies with the leadership, resources, and management tools to build safer, healthier communities.
L.E.A.D. partners with law enforcement agencies nationwide, giving officers the means to deliver evidence-based drug and violence prevention education directly in schools. Through a newly launched partnership with Botvin LifeSkills® Training — the gold standard in school-based prevention — L.E.A.D. now offers one of the most rigorously tested and proven-effective prevention programs available, designed for students from elementary through high school.
Backed by more than 40 peer-reviewed studies and 35 years of research, Botvin LifeSkills® Training has been associated with reductions in drug use of up to 75%, tobacco use of up to 87%, alcohol use of up to 60%, and violent or aggressive behaviors of up to 50%. The program equips students with the decision-making skills, social confidence, and personal resilience to lead healthy, drug-free lives.
L.E.A.D. is committed to reinforcing the mutual respect, goodwill, and trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve — on the street and in the classroom.
